Level Description
‘Technician’ Leveling Guide consists of jobs that accomplish work through a specialized knowledge or skills gained through a combination of vocational education, training, apprenticeship (craft, skilled and semi-skilled), and experience. This career stream will be most commonly applied to manufacturing technician job profiles.

Market Summary
Provides in-house and on-site field service, repair, calibration, upgrades, verification, validation, reconditioning, overhaul, & integration of equipment. Maintains and manages service records & documentation. Researches product designs and capabilities. Applies and develops time saving, cost effective service and quality assurance procedures.

Impact
• Applies advanced technical knowledge of methods, regulations, equipment, systems, controls, procedures, and/or essential regulations to assigned work. May begin to serve as a technical lead on a shift or lead a portion of work.
• Independently prioritizes and executes responsibilities for a single technical area or group of related tasks, technical disciplines, or multiple advanced subject matter areas. May begin to provide guidance to others, helping them to interpret information and provide input on escalated decisions.

• Communication is internal and occasionally external to the area or department. Communications are largely around giving/receiving basic to more advanced technical information.
